LIGHTING RIGGING SYSTEMS

Pole Control (PO) or DMX Control (ARC)

Light is also movement. For this reason, we offer a wide range of custom solutions for DMX motorization and pole-operated movement systems. Our solutions are born from years of experience, combined with a deep knowledge of the products available on the market and the specific needs of the entertainment industry. Each customization is carefully designed and developed to provide the solution that best fits the client’s requirements.

Our moving systems are capable of handling any lighting fixture for theater and television, both from our own production and from other major brands, as well as fog machines and video projectors. The yokes are designed for those who want to maintain the photometric performance of classic products while increasing their flexibility of use, saving a significant amount of time in aiming and repositioning.

Pole Control (PO)

Pole controls consist of gimbal or spring-type rotating joints mounted on the body of the fixture, allowing manual adjustment of horizontal and vertical orientation as well as zoom or focus, using a standard telescopic pole similar to those used for opening veranda curtains.

They are used in situations where stage space and obstacles make aiming fixtures difficult, and when fixtures are positioned at heights reachable with a pole.

Pole-operated aiming is very common in television studios, where there is a frequent need to quickly and precisely adjust the position of fixtures without using ladders and interfering with already-set scenography. A pole control can be installed on almost any fixture, even after purchase.

The main modification to the fixture consists of replacing the standard yoke with a Pole Operated yoke, which allows movement along the X and Y axes. If control over the Z axis is required, modifications to the carriage attachment are necessary to integrate the corresponding controls.

Movement is achieved via cups flipped downward and connected to the fixture and the specific yoke, with different colors indicating the three axes of movement: white for rotation (Pan, X), blue for elevation (Tilt, Y), and yellow for the carriage (Zoom, Z).

DMX Control (ARC)

The system, available with 2 or 3 parameters, allows high-precision positioning of pan and tilt movements, as well as focus or zoom control via a 16-bit DMX signal.

The system consists of a power supply and a DMX controller that drives 2 or 3 DC motors while also providing power and DMX signal for additional accessories such as color changers, gobo rotators, etc.

Positioning is particularly precise thanks to dual control in both pan and tilt: encoders for optimal speed control and potentiometers for constant position memory. This ensures perfectly smooth movements, even at low speeds and during acceleration/deceleration. Additionally, the fixture does not lose its position in the event of a power outage (no reset) or if manually displaced from its position (e.g., during lamp replacement).

The motors are oversized and completely silent, equipped with a mechanical safety clutch to prevent damage from collisions and with automatic shutdown until the DMX control signal is reversed.

Horizontal rotation exceeds 360° to avoid dark spots on stage, while vertical rotation reaches 270°. Menu-based settings for tilt, pan, and focus limits prevent collisions with set pieces, movement beyond lamp-specified limits, or zoom travel according to fixture lens length.

In addition to theatrical and television use, the yokes are also used for positioning video projectors, fog machines, loudspeakers, etc., with a maximum load capacity of 30 kg.

The yokes can operate either suspended from structures using the supplied quick-release hooks or, by removing the hooks, positioned on the stage floor with an appropriate stabilizing base.

If desired, the motorization can be turned off, and the fixtures will maintain their position (to avoid unintended movement from accidental operation). Thanks to the clutch, they can also be manually positioned if the operator is not present at the console.
